About the Author:

My name is Daniel Szekely and I work as an IB Economics tutor, examiner and teacher. Having earned an MA degree in Economics at the University of Aberdeen, I started my career as a financial analyst at Morgan Stanley, one of the largest investment banks of the world. Yet, despite the promising career prospects of the banking industry, I decided to make a larger social impact by becoming a teacher. Currently, I teach IB Economics at SEK Budapest International School and have been an examiner for over 8 years. I started EconDaddy as a simple blog to share great articles with my students and others taking IB Economics around the world to use for their commentaries. Being a practicing IB Economics tutor, I have first hand insight into the most common mistakes of students, so the EconDaddy blog now also provides exam and commentary writing tips.

Succeed in IB Economics

Being an IB Economics tutor and examiner, I exactly know what is expected from you during the exams and what your commentaries should look like.

Since I’m also a practising, certified teacher with over 8 years of experience specifically in IB Econ, I can help you in many ways from your daily homework to the Extended Essay.

*As of 2021, trial lessons cost €50.

During lessons, you get an active role:

Instead of listening to long and boring lecturing, you’ll get to participate actively in lessons using RealtimeBoard. Yepp, real time.

Therefore, as you get involved, learning that takes place will be a lot more meaningful too.

While I’ll always illustrate the theory we’re learning about using graphs, you’ll be provided with editing access so that you can show me what you don’t exactly understand.

IB Economics tutoring is fun, when you get to be part of it.

Cloud-based tutoring

IB Economics tutoring is only effective if you can get back to your notes later on too.

What’s great is you can check back to our notes whenever you want, and you can even organize and download all our tutoring materials in a pdf file.

Moreover, a you can also upload your own files. As some teachers don’t have enough time to discuss why your test was marked the way it was, my students usually upload their marked tests and we can go over them in more details. When preparing for school tests or the final exams, you can also show me some essays so that we can check them together.

Each session is personalized

As an IB Economics tutor, my no. 1 goal is to make you feel more confident about the subject. In order to reach that goal, all our sessions are tailored to your needs.

I believe that every student is unique person. Therefore, you will get an individualized study plan, so that we can progress at your pace and follow you own personal learning path.

Moreover, this interactive whiteboard lets you draw your own graphs, label curves, show calculations and even write longer answers to show me what you already understand.
